Rawlog ("we", "us") is a fitness and nutrition tracking app. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and the rights you have over it. We are the data controller for the processing described here.
We deliberately collect as little as possible. We do not store your name or email address in our own systems.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Account identifier (a pseudonymous ID from our auth provider, Clerk) | To link your data to your account and keep it private to you |
| Health & fitness data you enter: body weight, height, sex, year of birth, calorie/food logs, training sessions, goals | To provide the core tracking features and your adaptive calorie targets |
| Subscription status (from RevenueCat) | To unlock paid features |
| Free-text you submit for food/exercise parsing | Sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to structure your entry |
Weight, calorie intake, and training data are "data concerning health" under the UK GDPR / EU GDPR (Article 9). We process this data only with your explicit consent, given when you start using the app, and solely to provide the features you ask for. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (see Your rights).
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the app:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication (holds your sign-in identity, e.g. email) |
| RevenueCat / Apple | Subscription management and payments |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Parsing free-text food/exercise descriptions into structured data |
| Open Food Facts | Looking up product nutrition by barcode (we send the barcode, not your identity) |
| Railway | Hosting our application and database |
Each provider processes data under its own terms and our agreement with them. Some may process data outside the UK/EEA under appropriate safeguards.
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your data from our database, and your authentication record from Clerk.
Under the GDPR you can: access your data, correct it, delete it, export it (portability), restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. The app provides in-app export and delete for your data. For anything else, contact us below.
Rawlog is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Questions or requests: [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
